Okiya(大木屋)s rib eye steak, also known as Ayers Rock of beef, is a popular menu of the   casual teppan-yaki restaurant in central Tokyo. It lies on a hot plate built in a table and attracts a lot of gourmet people around the world – it may be exaggerated too much though.

The restaurant’s staff takes care of the steak. She made it in rare condition and cut in slices with a well trained manner.

This casual teppan-yaki restaurant has a course menu at ¥4,000. To be honest, this is not an authentic teppan-yaki restaurant, but is a kind of monja-yaki shop.

  • Sashimi of bonito
  • Rib eye steak – Ayers Rock
  • Sea food grill
  • Minced meat cutlet
  • Monja-yaki
  • Ice cream

Okiya’s minced meat cutlet is quite big and is stuffed with juicy pork and beef.

A bunch of sliced cabbage is put on the cutlet and then sweet and spicy sauce is put onto them. Cut in pieces and taste it. It’s so yum.

You can choose shrimp, scallop, or oyster for the seafood grill. These are grilled on the hot plate with butter and soy sauce, which produce savory flavor.

Monja-yaki for 8 people. It is a popular junk food containing a variety of ingredients mixed with tasty okonomiyaki sauce.

Mix it up and pour it onto the hot plate. Leave it for 4-5 minutes, and then scoop it. It is really tasty.
